Community Income Sharing

Neighbors send a share of their monthly income directly to each other — a Baltimore-born club, concept by Alex Zhu

Community Income Sharing

"A guaranteed income, guaranteed by your community." Neighbors each contribute a percentage of their monthly income and redistribute it equally — directly, person to person, no pooled fund, no middleman. The app handles member onboarding, the monthly send/receive matchmaking, a roster, gatherings, and an offers-and-needs board.

The Community Guaranteed Income Club started in Baltimore in spring 2025, after watching peers lose jobs. The concept was created by Alex Zhu; the platform was co-created by Alex Zhu, Tyler Heath, Deborah Tien, and Josh Nesbit, and is stewarded and maintained as open source by the Relational Tech Project. The Baltimore pilot moved $23,000+ among 50+ members with a 100% payment completion rate — "not because of contracts; because we know each other's names." It's designed to spread, chapter by chapter.
