Gathio

Gathio does one thing with unusual grace: create an event page with no account, share the public link, edit it with a private password link — and the whole page auto-deletes seven days after the event ends. It federates over ActivityPub for those who want it, and ignores that entirely for those who don't.

It's GPL-3.0, maintained by Raphael Kabo with community contributors, with a free flagship instance at gath.io and Docker docs for self-hosting. The honest caveat is the bus factor of a small solo-maintainer project — mitigated by the fact that there is nothing to lose: the pages were going to delete themselves anyway.

Gathio earns its shelf spot as a design statement: most neighborhood gatherings don't need a platform, a group, a feed, or a data trail. They need a page that exists for two weeks. Tools that know how small they are, stay healthy.
